FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS

WE ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS

What type of data are used to carry out the genetic risk estimation?

Genetic loci that have been associated with the development of a disease or complex trait by different scientific projects using a methodology called GWAS are used to carry out the genetic risk study.

Loci are fixed positions in the DNA that determine the position of a gene or genetic sequence. In other words, the variants present in these loci, which are known to have an impact on the development of the disease or trait, are used.

As a result of knowing whether these variants are protective or increase the risk of developing a disease or trait, we use different methods to estimate the result of their combination and generate the genetic risk results.
