Why is the country in which I was born not reflected in my ancestry report?
It is important to keep in mind that the definition of a political country and that of a genetic population differ in many cases. Countries, as we know them, are a political frontier and, in addition, many of them are newly formed. That is why, in many cases, a genetic population may be represented in more than one country or, on the other hand, the country of birth of origin of an individual and its genetic population shown in the ancestry DNA test results differ. Finally, it should be noted that, although tellmeGen is still working to improve our product, we are not yet able to include in our analysis all the genetic populations of the world. In case you belong to one of the populations not included in our analysis, your results will be associated to the genetic population most similar to this one that is part of our study.
