FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS

WE ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS

I have a low/medium risk of X disease/trait in the test, but I suffer from or have that disease/trait

Both complex diseases and traits are caused by a combination of genetic factors, environmental factors and the lifestyle of the individual. Even with monogenic diseases the expression of the disease does not have the same severity in all individuals. Knowing your genetics allows us to determine what genetic probability you have of developing each of the diseases and traits analysed.

However, you should be aware that these are conditioned by additional factors, and your results will only interpret the genetic part of the disease. Environmental factors and your lifestyle are not considered in the analysis of these results and may play an even more important role than genetics. Having a low/medium risk may play a protective role against that disease/trait, but they do not completely prevent it.
