How accurate is the ancestry analysis?
Our DNA test calculation methodology is based on statistical comparisons between the genetic information of each user and a reference database containing various genetic populations. The accuracy of the ancestry DNA test depends on the genetic population compared.
A genetic population originating hundreds of years ago, different from the rest and homogeneous among themselves, will have a high accuracy. On the other hand, more modern populations, created recently, that have undergone modifications in their borders due to political events, or in their population due to strong migrations, will have a lower precision than the previous ones because they are more heterogeneous populations that share a common genetic history.
Nevertheless, at tellmeGen we have worked on calibrating our methodology to ensure the highest possible accuracy in each case.
