What is analyzed to know the Neanderthal DNA?
In 2013 the sequencing of the Neanderthal genome with high coverage techniques was published for the first time, that is, to know and analyze Neanderthal DNA with high precision. This has allowed us to be able to determine which genetic variants have been maintained in Homo sapiens (human) DNA after the interbreeding that occurred between the two species tens of thousands of years ago.
From this number of variants of Neanderthal origin, we are able to determine which of our users have a greater or lesser number of these variants based on their DNA.
