Is it mandatory to take a pharmacogenetic test before taking drugs?
Currently there are different consortiums and organizations involved in the regulation of pharmacogenetics in clinical practice at the international level, such as the FDA, CPIC or DPWG. Each of these associations establishes its own criteria for obligatory and recommended studies prior to starting therapy based on the available evidence.
However, despite the fact that work is being done on this, there is currently no consensus on which drugs should be tested before starting treatment at the international level without exception.
