Why have small percentages of my ancestry been assigned to unexpected populations?
Our methodology for estimating the ancestry of our users is based on a statistical comparison analysis, which is always associated with a slight deviation, known as standard deviation. This deviation may result in our methodology assigning small percentages to populations that are not really part of the user’s ancestry, which we define as residual percentages and which should not be taken into account in the interpretation of the ancestry DNA test results.
Our ancestry kit is a robust and reliable product, but it has some common limitations in all analyses of this type. It’s the reason why we continue to innovate and update the results over time.
