If I already have a tellmeGen Advanced test, can I upgrade to ULTRA?

Unfortunately, an Advanced test cannot be updated to the Ultra version, and a new genetic analysis is required.

This is because they use different technology. Both the Starter and Advanced analyses are performed using Microarray Chip, focusing on genetic variants. However, the Ultra WGS (30x) analysis is a full genome sequencing, a reading of the user’s entire DNA. Therefore, a new sample is necessary to perform the WGS protocol.

The Starter and Advanced analyses examine several million genetic variants, while the Ultra reaches up to 3 billion variants. This also explains the difference in the size of Raw Data between the services. The Raw Data of the Starter and Advanced analyses is measured in megabytes, while the Ultra’s is around 90 gigabytes.
