WE ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS

How to properly collect the sample (DNA kit with swabs)?

The instructions for the correct collection of saliva in the Kit DNA are reflected inside the DNA kit that arrives at your home so that you do not have any questions at the time of collection.

BEFORE PERFORMING THE DNA TEST

  • Do not eat, drink, chew gum, or brush your teeth for 30 minutes prior to collecting the sample.
  • To stimulate saliva production, you can massage your cheeks.
  • Ensure that the end of the swab does not come into contact with any surfaces before collecting the sample.

DURING THE DNA TEST

Step 1: Remove one of the swabs from its wrapper, being careful not to touch the tip with your fingers. Discard the wrapper. Insert the tip of the swab inside his/her mouth and rub the inside of his/her cheeks with it to obtain as much saliva as possible.

Step 2: Insert the tip of one of the swabs into the tube and swirl it to mix with the preservative liquid.

Step 3: Break the swab into two pieces using the notch near the end. The end containing the saliva sample should remain inside the tube.

Step 4: Perform the same operation of step 1 with the other swab.

Step 5: Perform the same operation of step 2 with the other swab.

Step 6: Perform the same operation of step 3 with the other swab.

Step 7:Then close the tube with the cap, once you have the two swabs in the tube.

Step 8: To mix the swab with the preservative liquid, shake the tube by inverting it about 15 times.

Step 9: Insert the collection tubes with the saliva samples into the box.

Step 10: Put the box in the shipping bag (the big bag) and take it for collection.

Duo / Family  DNA Kit:Once all the users of the pack have completed the previous 9 steps, the last step is to put the cardboard box inside the shipping bag (the big plastic bag) and take it to the transport company that we will indicate at the end of the sampling and registration process.

PRESERVE THE GENETIC TEST WITH SALIVA

It is not necessary, although it is recommended, to keep the sample cold, the preservative solution in the tube allows optimum conservation at room temperature (15-30ºC) for 12 months after taking the sample.
