What is the difference between Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) and Exome Sequencing (WES)?

Exome sequencing (WES) only sequences the 2% of the genome that contains instructions for making proteins. ULTRA with WGS sequences 100%, including the remaining 98%. We now know that these “non-coding” regions contain thousands of genetic variants crucial for regulating gene activity and health. WGS provides a comprehensive view that doesn’t become outdated.
